Romina Daniele Previews Spannung in Milan
Romina Daniele will perform on Sunday, July 24, at Carroponte in Sesto San Giovanni, during a special evening organized by the Centro Musica Contemporanea in collaboration with Arci. On this occasion, the artist will present live excerpts from Spannung, her forthcoming album released via RDM Records.
The musician's third full-length album borrows its title from philosopher Martin Heidegger, who used Spannung to signify the existential "tension of being."
With this project, Romina Daniele introduces a distinct formal evolution in her work. Embracing an emancipated vision of music, genre boundaries—from blues to contemporary avant-garde—are crossed and unified, focusing on acoustic research, vocal exploration, and the composition of physical sound matter across electronic and vocal mediums.
Her previous releases include Diffrazioni Sonore (2005), which investigated the relationship between vocal improvisation and studio-fixed sound composition, and Aisthànomai: The Tragedy of Consciousness (2008), which examined the interplay between poetry and electroacoustic studio composition.
Throughout her career, Romina Daniele has earned significant honors: she won the international Demetrio Stratos Award for Vocal Research in 2005 and 2007, and received the Arci Award for Musical Experimentation during the 5 Giornate per la Nuova Musica Festival in March 2011.
