Rythm'n Blues is not a topic for carte blanche, you have to dig into the darkness of the most hidden receptacles of the soul to fully understand it. Romina with her band gave us a clear lesson in this regard: a dirty, impudent and subversive show with the ghosts of Janis, Koko and Aretha (not yet a de facto ghost, fortunately) stirring in the background. A special repertoire and a difficult and expressive voice which, when it enters you, inevitably possesses you. And if you think that “Piece of my Heart” is a banal cover it's because evidently you weren't here last night: it wasn't easy to remain faithful to it and, at the same time, make it so personal and incisive.
