Following a rigorous artistic trajectory historically defined by the Demetrio Stratos International Award in 2005 and pivotal experimental works like Diffrazioni Sonore and Aisthánomai, Absence represents a definitive statement in contemporary sound research and concrete philosophy. Reclaiming the original 2015 Milanese research sessions for a new global stage in Miami , the project serves as a definitive document of the Sheen project history—originally conceived by Lorenzo Marranini and developed in participation with Romina Daniele.

The conceptual framework of the work draws its title and direction directly from Daniele's stark poem, 'Absence (or the threshold of my pain)'. Working upon indifferentiated masses, deep electronic environments, and raw, visceral vocal-textual interventions, the project captures the structural tension between human consciousness and industrial electronic mappings.
